Iblis is Satan in the quran:
"Behold! We said to the Angels, 'Bow down to Adam': they bowed down except Iblis. He was One of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord....(The Noble Quran, 18:50)"
"It is We Who Created you and gave you shape; then We bade the Angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; he refused to be of those who bow down. (Allah) said: 'What prevented thee from bowing down when I commanded thee?
He said: 'I am better than he: Thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay. this stuff is NOT in the bible, but this is where it comes from. about half a century after the bible was initially canonized.

flying squirrels

i was walking malvin in the open field across the street and we came upon a little tiny mostly hairless squirrel laying face down under a tree. at first i thought he was a mouse, he was so small. i assumed he was dead and kept malvin away while i poked him with a stick. poking assumed dead things with a stick is the prescribed man thing to do under such circumstances.
to my surprise, he squirmed a little. malvin squirmed a LOT. i found an empty styrofoam cup and kind of rolled him into it with the stick. then i set the cup into a good Y branch a bit up the tree. i hoped mamma squirrel might find him and he'd at least be off the ground. i turned around to find malvin occupied with a baby squirrel in the spot where i just picked this one up from.
i looked into the tree, thinking he fell right out, but no, he was in his cup in the tree. evidentally this one fell out of the tree from that same place. a hole in a nest? a bird attacking? it was wierd, but i just retrieved the original squirrel in the cup and i scooped this 2nd one into it as well. where the first one went in bottom first and was looking out the cup, this one went in head first and stirred things up a bit. i wedged the cup into the tree again.
i looked overhead to see if there were any more flying squirrels

does anyone else always get the 'bad certificiate' message from firefox when they come here?
i think big church should stop messing around censoring stuff that is completly acceptable and worry about maintaining this site in an acceptable manner.

i went to a preliminary hearing today for my little 911 problem and was told that i had been indicted by a grand jury. my trial is set for the 22nd of this month. this is pretty scarey. i am leaning on jesus HARD. no matter what happens, i know he will bring me through it.
i have been thinking of paul and silas chained in the dungeon singing praise to the lord.

i have argued this here before, and people have stubbornly refused to acknowledge this truth. everybody offers scads of biblical allusions that they THINK is the story of satan but are NOT. the truth is that there is NO biblical story of satan's origin. it is just something RC cooked up to fill pews and coffers. people have HEARD it for so long that they just believe it is in the bible, but it is NOT. meow commented in my last post and dug it all up again (this is from my answer)
the story of satan falling from heaven DOES exist, it is just not in the bible. i have searched for it in a scholarly fashion for a research paper. it is in the quaran, NOT the bible.
there is also a similar story of an angel falling from heaven in one of the many books of enoch. but his name was not satan or any other facsimilie, and it is NOT the popular story that the quaran uses. it is more like a sgt. peppers acid trip story. this angel tries to 'put his cloud above god,' and god banishes him to earth. this was likely written durring the dysporia.'
if enough people verbally tell a story enough times, especially including respected authorities, people will believe it to be true no matter what. the story of satan falling from heaven has been told to in sunday school for eons. MOST christians just believe it and will INSIST it is biblical. when pushed, people will draw wrong conclusions from all sorts of things.
Luke 10:18 DOES have jesus say "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven," but it says NOTHING about pride or hell or eternal damnation. again, that is all very clearly spelled out in the quaran, NOT the bible.
Isaiah 14:12 DOES say "How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!" however, if you actually READ this in context it is about the king of tyre. NOT satan. there are many notes that tie jesus' statement above to this passage as well, using it as a metaphor to his disciples.
Ezekiel 28 seems to tell the familiar satan story, but again, it is a prophesy about the land and king of tyre. tyre got a buttload of prophetic condemnation (Isaiah 23:1–18; Jeremiah 25:22; 27:1–11; Ezekiel 26:1– 28:19; Joel 3:4–8; Amos 1:9, 10). Ezekiel 28:11–19 is against the king of Tyre for his insatiable pride and greed. YES, it it may use satan as a METAPHOR, but it is NOT the story as we all know it, just similar. the story as we know it is in the quaran. NOT the bible...and kind of in one of the books of enoch.

comcast FINALLY showed up today. i will skip the details, i could not even explain how messed up they are, and it would make me crazy(er) to even try. suffice to say that i am FINALLY back on line. hopefully for a while.
not having internet for this last week has been maddening. i use magicjack for a VOIP phone, and so it meant i had no phone either. i have an obamma welfare phone, but i only get 100 minutes a month and that was long gone for july. i felt disconnected and deaf and dumb all week.
however, i found that i really didn't need the internet as much as i thought i do. to avoid thinking about it i kept myself busy. boy did i keep myself busy. i nearly finished the basement finishing touches that i had been sysematically putting off since the winter. i got around to a kabillion other projects around here that i had procastinating. i played my guitar a whole lot and spent a lot more time than i usually do playing with malvin, and he has been responding really well to the extra attention.
i also opened my bible for the first time since seminary. i read all of ezekiel, because people have wrongly argued that it contains the story of the devil falling to earth. i knew they were wrong, but i was a little fuzzy on the details of that book. not anymore. i also read all the NIV study notes for it.
i am about half through the gospel of John now, and i am reading the study notes too. i had never before realized that andrew, one of his first disciples was originally a disciple of john the baptist. according to the study notes, john, the disciple jesus loved, was also likely a john disciple. i never before made the connection that andrew was peter's brother either.
additionally, i have been making some serious headway giving up two of my nastiest addictions; pop and pot. i have been only drinking soda with lunch and supper all week. for the last few years, i had been drinking at least ten cans a day or so. i feel so much better without it, and been drinking a lot of water. i think all that caffiene was messing with me too. i feel calmer.

i have a drivers license again!!!

the illinois drivers license organization is more of a mess than most other illinois state organizations. most state organizations are messed up royal. they wrongly suspended my license because they sent me a notice for a court date a week after the court date passed.
after a kabillion phone calls, i was able to sort things out and get a new court date, and a letter that said "oops, sorry, your license is not suspended." however, i was downstate for my 's wedding and my license was taken for driving on a suspended license. they also would not let me drive my car home. this was last november.
i have everything documented on paper, including the quick rescind that the state managed when i threatened to sue. however (again), the little yokel town downstate lost my physical license. i have been driving on all of the paperwork documentation, that outlines the story of what all happened and all the mistakes the state made.
when a cop would pull me over and ask for my license, i would hand them a HUGE envelope of said documention. usually, this would anger them and they would be nasty to me about everything, but they couldn't give me a ticket without a license. i have been pulled over maybe 5 times since they took my license and so avoided tickets each time. the cops would be abusive, but they usually let me go. usually they were full of beans anyways, and just trying to fill up thier ticket book.
however, after my recent trist with the police, i no longer have the strenggth to keep playing this game. i went down to the dmv this morning and got a new license. my old one also had expired on my last birthday, so i had to renew it anyways. it is strange to have a drivers license again, but it is nice not to worry.
i made up a form letter that i give to police that says i am sick and don't raise thier voice or be impolite. that really gets cops mad too, but it scares them enough to leave me alone. i think i will still use the letter when i get pulled over. i think chicago cops need to constantly be reminded to be polite.

someone suggested that bad stuff always comes in 3s. i don't know if it is coincidence, but it sure seems like every few years around my birthday in july, the material always seems to hit the fan. whatever the cosmic circumstances may or may not have to do with it, i am sure that much of it is due to my mouth.
i am SO high strung it doesn't take much to set me off. people can be such idiots. nevermind how much of an idiot i always am when i get angry and judgemental.
i have to learn to let go and let god. i know that is SO cable channel religious show, but it is still true. when people make me crazy, it is because they don't do exactly what i think they should do, and i am both judging them and NOT forgiving them.
i have to remember the parable of the king and the debtor. i have to forgive everyone and let god sort it all out. i am always SO quick on my high telling everyone what they should do, and i don't always do what i should.
the long and short of this rambling nonsense is that every few years, around my birthday in july, god will help me out of something that seems has no escape. my faith will be renewed and i will make better life choices for a while. until a few years later, usually around my birthday in july.

someone broke in here last night while i slept. i had the a/c in my bedroom on and it is old and loud. i also live on a major through street and there is constant traffic noise. malvin was crated.
they chisled out glass block windows in the basement. i always lock the doors of the "house" when i go to bed so nobody entered my living space. They didn't really steal anything of value, as far as i can tell, they took an old digital camera, a really old laptop that i only used for an MP3 player in the garage and the church donations jug (less than $20 in change). praise the lord that is all. there were many guitars and a lot of equipment in the church.
i have everything boarded up now and am ok. i am afraid to call the police.
