Jesus Explains The Gospel 7/7/2010
Jesus Explains the Gospel God's Word changes us from the inside out, no matter
how bad we are. God's grace reaches to the most sinful,
the most defiled. Remember the "Amazing Grace"
that saved a wretch like John Newton? How does God do that? He explains it in a word picture in Psalm
32:1-2, by using three different Hebrew words for Forgiveness:
• LIFTED OFF: Forgiven means literally to have ...

Isaiah 26 :4 7/7/2010
Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting
strength. Seeing that we have such a God to trust to, let us rest upon
Him with all our weight; let us resolutely drive out all
unbelief, and endeavour to get rid of doubts and fears,
which so much mar our comfort; since there is no excuse for
fear where God is the foundation of our trust. A loving parent
would be ...

El Roi 7/7/2010
An Egyptian slave, Hagar encountered God in the desert
and addressed him as El Roi, "the God who sees me."
Notably, this is the only occurrence of El Roi in the Bible.
Hagar's God is the One who numbers the hairs on our heads
and who knows our circumstances, past, present, and future.
When you pray to El Roi, you are praying to the one who knows
everything about you. Key Scripture She [Hagar] ...

Do You Believe and Have This Life? 7/7/2010
Do You Believe and Have This Life? What happens when you preach the gospel from the Gospels
to lost sinners? Does it work any more? I mean does the gospel
impact lives like it did in the world of Christ and the Apostles?
Sometimes it seems that the Roman World of Bible times that
Jesus and Paul lived in 20 centuries ago -- is so far removed
from us. And we may think that our sins today, and the ...

Deuteronomy 4:29 7/7/2010
But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will
find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all
your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29) Chase after God with everything you've got! God will never be your deepest desire and the One who meets
your deepest needs and the One who gives your life purpose
if you treat your relationship with Him casually. A truly
intimate relationship only ...

Are You In? 7/4/2010
Are You In?
Do you know if you are "in" yet? Are you assured
of eternal life? Who is really going to Heaven? Those may well be the most urgent question of our earthly
existence. We live in a religious world that is by and large
made up of multitudes who are either unconcerned or misguided
as to their eternal soul. The only guidebook to Heaven is
God's Word. The only Guide is God's who ...

The Power of the Gospel 7/4/2010
The Power of the Gospel
This Gospel of Jesus is powerful. Have you shared it this
week? As we turn back now to our opening text in Luke 14:15-24
may I illustrate the power of the Gospel? Listen to Christ's
power of salvation from this moving story from World War
II. Remember the Day of Infamy when we were attacked and
drawn into the 2nd World War? It begins at 7:55 a.m. on ...

2 Chronicles 32:31 Howbeit, in the business of the ambassadors of the princes
of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that
was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that He might
know all that was in his heart. Hezekiah was growing so inwardly great, and priding himself
so much upon the favour of God, that self-righteousness
crept in, and through his carnal security, the ...

Genesis 3:8 7/2/2010
Genesis 3:8 The voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool
of the day. My soul, now that the cool of the day has come, retire awhile
and hearken to the voice of thy God. He is always ready to
speak with thee when thou art prepared to hear. If there
be any slowness to commune it is not on His part, but altogether
on thine own, for He stands at the door and knocks, and if

Psalm 16 : 7-11 7/2/2010
I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; indeed, my mind
instructs me in the night. I have set the LORD continually
before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh
also will dwell securely. For You will not abandon my soul
to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
You will make known to me the path ...

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate
faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will
give you the desires of your heart.... Yet a little while
and the wicked man will be no more; and you will look carefully
for his place and he will not be there. But the humble will
inherit the land and will delight themselves in abundant
prosperity.... Better is the little of ...

The Believer's Identification 7/2/2010
The Believer’s Identification
DURING THE CIVIL WAR, George Wyatt was drawn by lot to go
to the front. He had a wife and six . A young man named
Richard Pratt offered to go in his stead. He was accepted
and joined the ranks, bearing the name and number of George
Wyatt. Before long Pratt was killed in action. The authorities later sought again to draft George Wyatt
into service. He ...

The AntiChrist 6/30/2010
THE ANTICHRIST
Little , it is the last time: and as ye have heard
that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists;
whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from
us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they
would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out,
that they might be made manifest that they were not all of
us.... Who is a ...

1 Thessalonians 4:14 6/29/2010
1 Thessalonians 4:14 Them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. Let us not imagine that the soul sleeps in insensibility.
"Today shalt thou be with me in paradise, "
is the whisper of Christ to every dying saint. They "sleep
in Jesus, " but their souls are before the throne
of God, praising Him day and night in His temple, singing
hallelujahs to Him who washed them from their sins in ...

Hebrews 12:2 6/29/2010
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus. It is ever the Holy Spirit's work to turn our eyes away
from self to Jesus; but Satan's work is just the opposite
of this, for he is constantly trying to make us regard ourselves
instead of Christ. He insinuates, "Your sins are
too great for pardon; you have no faith; you do not repent
enough; you will never be able to continue to the end; you

Christ - Source of the Endless Joy-Filled Life
To begin our look at Christ's offer of endless, overflowing,
joy filled life look at John 20:31. Last century, blind Helen Lemmel wrote, "O soul are
you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see?
There's life for a look at the Savior, and life more
abundant and free. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full
in His wonderful face..." ...

2 PETER 1:4 6/29/2010
2 Peter 1:4 Having escaped the corruption that is in the world through
lust. Vanish for ever all thought of indulging the flesh if you
would live in the power of your risen Lord. It were ill that
a man who is alive in Christ should dwell in the corruption
of sin. "Why seek ye the living among the dead?"
said the angel to Magdalene. Should the living dwell in
the sepulchre? Should divine life be ...

The Love of the World 6/29/2010
THE LOVE OF THE WORLD
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in
him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and
the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father,
but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust
thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ...

Seven Words of Hope and Life 6/27/2010
Seven Words of Hope and Life Jesus lives. The Tomb is empty. Death is defeated. The Grave
is opened. God is in control. His Word is true. The Devil is destroyed. Death, Hell, and the Grave are rendered
powerless by Christ's Resurrection. God won. When Jesus rose the disciples were able to talk with Him,
learn from Him, and get established by Him. But how did He
do all that? Jesus reminded them of ...

Isaiah 40:9 6/27/2010
Isaiah 40:9 Get thee up into the high mountain. Our knowledge of Christ is somewhat like climbing one of
our Welsh mountains. When you are at the base you see but
little: the mountain itself appears to be but one-half
as high as it really is. Confined in a little valley, you
discover scarcely anything but the rippling brooks as
they descend into the stream at the foot of the mountain.
Climb the ...

which can be shaken, and it ill becomes a Christian man to
set much store by them, for there is nothing stable beneath
these rolling skies; change is written upon all things.
Yet, we have certain "things which cannot be shaken, "

Unpardonable Sin 6/25/2010
Unpardonable Sin As we open to Mark 3 we open to Jesus walking on this earth
and confronting the Scribes, men of the Word. As we prepare
to read the 11 verses that record that event stop and think
what I just said. Jesus was face to face with a group of humans.
Have you ever thought about how we appear to Jesus? Not spiritually,
but physically. He has such a different perspective than
we do. ...
