Thank You to everyone who helped me on fbook. The story made it to very high places. I'm not sure if it helps me or hurts me yet. The judge was furious about me going public and continued the case until 8/11.

8/11? is that kind of twighlight zone or what?

Please continue sharing my story, the more light we shine on the darkness, the more it fades away. If anybody knows of a good lawyer in Chicago who handles this kind of stuff, please put us in touch.

THANKS AGAIN.

I updated my 911 Post and posted it on fbook with a plea for freedom. If enough people "like" it (or hate it?) maybe i can get viral enough to make the news and get somebody to notice the facts?

i have sent the fbook post to all the local news outlets too. So far, the lord has turned this nightmare into a miracle. maybe with a little internet help we can shine the light on him here.

look me up on fbook. my name is rockyg and i am in chicago. like my 911 post. PLEASE!

lets go viral!!

When 911 Says “NO!”

When 911 Says “NO!”

I have always taken it for granted that 911 is there to help in an emergency. I expect the police to protect and serve me. Realizing suddenly that these basic privileges are not guaranteed is scarier than whatever you were afraid of when you called for help. In Reality, the police can't possibly send someone to personally respond to every 911 call for help. There are just too many people, and too many people don't have a great handle on reality. What is, or is not an emergency can be very subjective.

A heightened security stance has necessarily been tight nationwide, and police everywhere have had to get tough. The nation needs to stand strong in the face of terrorism. Things are getting crazy out there. The 911 system is crucial to staying a step ahead of chaos, or responding in time to make the difference. In 2011, a new Illinois law made false 911 complaints a felony with strict penalties. Govenor Pat Quinn said, “By making the penalty harsher, this new law will help deter people from placing false 911 calls.”

If this law then, is an effort to reduce the number of false 911 complaints, it has not shown to be. The number of false 911 complaints in Chicago has skyrocketed since this law's inception. It seems that very few people even know about this law until they are charged with this felony. Wouldn't it make more sense to have 911 operators warn of a possible felony at the time the call is made? This should be the recorded message when you are on 911 hold. Very few people make such calls with malicious intent. Many are people in trouble desperate for police assistance and being refused. That is much different than intentionally messing with 911.

A simple warning would be more effective than this arrest now, inform you later game. It also might be a little more legal. In all 911 calls in which immediate response is dernied, when they say “NO,” operators need recite a legal statement to the affect of “You understand we know who you are and if anything you said is not true you will go to prison.” Like Miranda Rights, people have rights. I am certain such a statement would greatly reduce the number of false claims made in haste. More so than prison without warning.

To be afraid enough to call 911 for help, and then be told “NO” is a sort of assault. It isn't hard to imagine people reacting severely in this situation and saying something stupid out of anger and fear. It is hard enough to deal with 911 response times when they agree you have an emergency. When 911 doesn't agree, what do you do?

i have just returned from being blessed to be intimately familiar with the chicago DOC. it is forked up beyond all comprehension, but i won't get into the minutia. i also am not going to explain exactly how i came to be so informed about this subject. it was one of the most difficult things i have ever had to get through and it needs to be forgotten.

however, i was very surprised to learn how present god is in prison. it isn't so often that i find so many incredibly godly men outside of a church.

things were really bad, and i was praying a LOT. at great pain, i was deciding that i had to sell the church and get the hell out of this city or i wasn't going to survive. i am chewed up and spit out everytime i turn around. it just can't be this forked up everywhere else too. undersand that after the second day, i was greiving that both of my pets at home had or would starve.

and then...god turned things around. i could never explain exactly what happened, but in my darkest moment of need, i witnessed one miracle after another. i am home and well and malvin and hobbes are too. my and i burried a lot of old bad blood. i met an archbishop of a large baptist church that is going to ordain me and take god's garage under its wing. god was everywhere i went.

i am NOT selling out and running away. god renewed my soul and showed me a lot of things about myself that i could not see or was denying. god put a new desire on my heart and has equipped me to personally understand the collossal need and begin a prison ministry.

i applaud big church in going pink in thier effort to raise awareness about breasts. too many of us go so long without a woman that we forget all about breasts. this is horrible, breasts are a necessary part of a balanced male diet. it is not enough that women walk around with thier breasts bouncing all over the place all the time. especially in the summer, breasts are popping out all over.

thank you big church for reminding me yet again that i aint fondled any breasts in many years.

I have not gotten around to finishing the "info" page on my website. That is because I just did four long years of serious mental abuse at North Park Theological Seminary and this feels too much like another one of the ridiculous assignments I was forced to complete. State your purpose concisely and back it up with scriptural examples and scholarly theology. Don't bother about being authentic, fake it. Give them what they want to hear and get the good grade.

Well, North Park stiffed me for my degree, not to mention ordinance, and I am NOT doing anymore childish and forced "spiritual" essays. It makes me sad and angry the way in which so many organizations of God lose sight of the important stuff. I do not need a degree from an institution that treats people the way North Park has treated me and other aging students.

On the positive side, I learned a buttload about God and the bible. I have completed 95 out of 96 credit hours with upwards of a 3.5 GPA. I entered Seminary because I had a vision to open a gathering place for music and the arts under God. When I prayed about this plan, God directed me to get a foundation first. North Park supplied me with a great foundation, albeit WAY overkill. I would not have been prepared to open God's Garage without much of what I learned at North Park. There are many great people there too.

I have been a musician all my life. I have watched as many of my friends have opened musical venues where crowds of people gather. However, such establishments are always centered around intoxication, sex, and other not so great behavior. I want to make a place where people can come and meet and enjoy music and art and each other without so much not so great behavior. Nobody is perfect, and this is not about trying to drag people to God and change their ways. It is just an alternative scene to the bars and clubs on every corner.

What is in all this for God? He is everywhere in this place. You can't come to God's Garage and not think of him at least once. That is good enough for God, he is in it for the long haul and can wait. What is in all this for me? I have not lived an exemplary life, I have fallen into every type of snare and trap that this world sets for those of us that are adventurous. God has delivered me through it all and I want to do something to help others. I want to make a place for music and discussion that is not centered around poor life choices.

This is intended to be a house of God, and everyone is invited. The intended audience here is adult musicians, but we enforce a “PG13” on any content when anyone under 18 is present. In Luke, in the parable of the wedding banquet, the master tells his servants to go to the highways and the byways and bring whoever they might find to fill his house.

It is my birthday tomorrow and i am buying a bottle of rum and some beer for open mic tonite. we just have to keep it out of the church. we have karaoke now too, and everything on the stage is digitally recorded.

we have house electric & acoustic guitars, a bass, keyboards, electronic drum kit, tamborines and an air guitar. we have purposely given away all of our accordians and banjos.

you can sing and play your own stuff, or karaoke, or play along with karaoke, or just talk smack on the mic. whatever floats your boat.

just no hate or violence. come for free alcohol and stay for the music. please perform responsibly.

Gods Garage,(near grand¢ral)
Open Mic EVERY Friday Nite, 7 – 10:30 (and later tonite 7/11)

i can't recall if i have posted about my next door neighbor's yard or not? i don't think i did, so i will just do a quick re-cap:

i am on a major commercial thoroughfare, on my left there is a flourist and large brick tentament building. the owner is good people and i mostly get along with the tenants. on my right, east, there is a brick single family home-ish building that has long been converted to a business.

they make ribbons there; like award ribbons that say '#1' or 'best grandma' and stuff. there is a guy that sits in one of the 'bedrooms' all day and staples ribbons on a big punch stapler. in the summer, he opens the window and i can see him. he always waves 'hello.'

the problem is that this business is only open during the day. there is no real back yard to the building, or fence, it is just an open dirt lot. the building has a back porch, and under the porch there is a kind of open area crawl space. THAT is the problem.

neighborhood bums have claimed the spot under the porch as a flop house. i don't know that there are really so many 'bums' here as drunks for the night, but last summer there was ALWAYS people sleeping under there. sometimes they are not sleeping. they are fighting or talking to themselves or reliveing themselves wherever they feel like it. this is the problem.

last summer, there were 2 guys and a large living under there for weeks. i used to talk to them sometimes, they were ok guys. i was never worried about my property or safety, but i still did not like them living under there. i wondered where the was pooping too. i talked to the business owner about all of this, and he said "ok," and proceeded not to do anything about it.

i put up a high fence so i can't see the yard anymore. throughout the winter, everytime i saw really big garbage items in the alley, i would put them under the porch in the crawl space after the business was closed. by this summer, the crawl space was too packed with junk for any human to crawl in there and sleep.

I WIN! nana na boo boo. well, maybe not.

the other night i was coming home late on my little 125 yahama and i startled some small animal in that 'yard.' i figured it was a rat, but it was not shaped quite right, it was too tall and too long. it looked up at me in my headlight and stood up on its hind legs. it was no rat.

it showed its teeth and kind of hiss/growled a warning at me and i got a really good look at it. it seemed very angry that i disturbed it. it finished grissing at me and ran away into the junk pile under the porch.

my first impression was that it was a sloth. i know that is crazy, but that is what came to mind. i googled sloth when i went in, and it did look a little like a sloth, but not quite. i googled every kind of local varmint i could think of, but none of them were quite right. it wasn't a possum, a muskrat, a river rat....etc. then i googled chicago native species and found weasles and minks.

i thought weasle was more likely, and it sort of looked a little like some of the pictures i found. then i looked up mink, and that was it dead on. i know it is really wierd, but i read up on minks, and i guess they like junk piles to live in. they come in off the river, which is not that far from me, and they will burrow into large piles of junk in much the same way that beavers burrow in dams. they will dig in and stay as long as there is a food supply.

i mentioned rats earlier, we also have a lot of stray cats. this is a major through street and a commercial area, there are 3 resteraunts on this block alone. there is PLENTY of food to be found around here.

SO...i have a mink living next door. is that an indication of class?
