i am not trying to flood the blogs. i FINALLY figured out what sojo meant by that, and saw that i was the ONLY person in the recent blog posts box on the home page, and that i was there THREE times. i have purposely NOT posted another post since i figured that out, because i have felt dumb being featured like this. but it is also kinda dumb to NOT post because of it. NOBODY else is posting?

does nobody else have anything to say?

i usually do not have MUCH to say, but i have a question that maybe someone can answer?

we useta be able to use points to do stuff, like send letters to others, or buy premium stuff? i don't really remember what i did to earn my points, but i have a BUNCH of them and i would like to use them for stuff? what do i do? (i just went to help and figured it out.) thanks anyways.

i guess that we get points for blogging or commenting on blogs. so get blogging!!

all that we have to do to use those points is click on them and follow the help screens.

i have been chatting on wireclub lately, nobody is ever chatting here anymore. i usually chat in the religion room, and there are TONS of athiests there regularly. i met a lady there who was from elk grove village, and at least in her 40s, and we have exchanged email letters for a few weeks. she is in the airforce, and not in town as i'd hoped, but deployed to libya.

she wrote me to pray for her and her team as they had a HUGE mission to perform. then she wrote me back to tell me that it was successful and they had found millions of dollars in us cash. her and her team had voted to split it up among themselves and she asked for my address to send me some.

it felt too much like the old give me your bank account scam to me, and i don't need (or want) money from ill gotten gains and i told her so. i was also more than a little afraid to give my mailing address at that point. i said to send any money she didn't want to my church and gave her that address.

darn. she was nice too.

my dsl internet is down at home (i am at work now). i got wifi to work, but i can not do a lotta stuff (roku, phone) that i usually do, and i don't trust wifi for security reasons. i never realize how important internet is to me until its gone.

on the upside lately, i FINALLY got my ok from my dr to start my new meds. he says they can take up to 6 weeks to take effect, but i feel better right away knowing that at least i am on them now. thank you god!

i guess side effects can include hair loss (there is not much there) and diarreah. but that hasn't started to be a problem yet.

i think i have waited a sufficient time to post again?

i had wanted to post this a few days ago, but i was afraid of 'flooding the blogs.' i got my 65 gig usb drive from ebay last week. i copied all my christian rock mp3s to it (it took a few hours) and brought it out to my car stereo. my new(er) car has a pretty good stereo in it, but i have never really listened to music on it.

i have had a somewhat troubled past life, and listening to rock n roll just brings up too many bad memories. i started to collect christian rock songs a while back and put them all to mp3, playing them all the time at god's garage. but i really haven't had a place to play them since the church closed. also, i have kind of had a kind of hard time with the church closing down and it would just remind me too much.

having the thumb drive in my car now, it is a good reason to listen to those songs again. and there are a LOT of good godly songs that i pretty much forgot about. some are not so godly, but they are still fun. i completely forgot how much i loved larry norman when i found him. these are lyrics to one of his songs:

be careful what you sign

I was walking down the road when I bumped into you
I was walking down the road when I bumped into you
you stopped me you touched me you looked me in the eye
I had a feeling that you knew me I decided you must die
I pulled out my Thornton special I shot you in the head
I threw you in the alley way and I left you for dead

then a man with a hat came up from behind
the sky went black and I thought i was blind
he put his hand inside my jacket and left a million dollar bills
he slipped his hand into my pocket and gave me women and thrills
and when I turned around to thank him there was no one there but me
and both my hands where filled with sand I was standing by the sea

we had a dinner at eight and women at nine
the party was great till we ran out of wine
there was a knock upon the bedroom door my knees began to shake
and this man came in and melted all the candles on my cake
he said I've come here to you it's time for you to go

I was running down the road
I was trying to leave
and I saw you all alone in between the thieves
and when the lightning flashed I saw somebody hanging from a tree
and as I turned to walk away I realized it was me
I pulled out my Thornton special I shot me in the head
I threw me in the alley way and left me for dead
down the road
down the road

this is not his best work, but it is a good jam and it was good to hear it. i don't quite understand what it is trying to say about god, but i know it is about christ and it made me feel good to hear it today

I didn't know there was a recent blog posts thing. I never meant to bogart the blogs, and have purposely TRIED NOT to post too many posts. I am stuck home a LOT, especially lately.

I am having trouble with the MS again. I guess the medication I *was* taking could cause an infection in my brain. that is NOT good. so I had to stop taking that medication before I switch to another medication. I haven't been able to get around so great in the interim. It has been 6 weeks so far. but my blood tests say I am NOT ready to start the new meds yet.

I usually rely on the little calendar in the blog to alert me to too many posts. I have included the calendar for February. the calendar was saved before this post was logged in.

please accept my sincere apologies, and do NOT let me posting keep anyone from posting on the blogs here. and bite me sojo, you are NOT the boss o the blogs

taxes?

I have gotten a jump on my taxes already. I got my federal wages thingie, and my investment earnings thingie and have filled out turbo tax as far as I could. I used turbo tax the last few years without a problem, and it is free. the only thing I haven't received yet is my bank interest thingie, which can't be that much, it is only for my savings. I think I am going to stop at the bank soon and see if I can get a copy of it, but I HATE going to the bank and waiting in line. it is just a little thing, but I want to have all my ducks in a row before I file. I know I still have time, but I like to get things like this done with, so I don't have to rush or worry. I don't think I will get much of a refund (if any), so it is not greed.

jesus' transfiguration III (per moody radio open line)

I heard back from moody radio about Jesus' transfiguration, and actually listened to the response. open line radio did not add anything that we have not discussed here before: Dr. Micheal Rydelnik basically said what urban said, that the disciples probally heard them talking to each other and discerned who was who from that.

the good Dr. also said that moses and Elijah were there FROM heaven, and did not even address the biblical imperative that they were asleep until jesus called them to heaven when he returned. he also went on to say that the three disciples that were invited to the transfiguration, were the closest to jesus. they were the inner circle of his inner circle. I think katydid actually implied that, but her answer was SO long, I kinda glazed over before I got through it all.

I have always had a hard time with thinking that we were NOT in heaven when we die. that we are asleep until jesus comes again. I do NOT like thinking that some people make it to heaven right away, but that others have to wait? even if it is moses and Elijah only. why are they special?

I was hoping for a huge biblical revelation. this Dr. Micheal Rydelnik guy is usually a pretty good bible answer man. I listen to his show every Saturday. this is one of the worst answers I have ever heard him give.

by the by, mr bond. how about THIS picture??

every day when i log into big church these "matches" show up. i am guessing they are near to me (my zip code) rather than just NEW matches as advertised, because they are pretty much the same people every day rather than a misc batch. for the most part, they are a bit younger than me as well. does anyone else get the same group every day?

the transfiguration of jesus PART II

i found this on a bible answer site. it STILL doesn't answer wesley's question directly, but it sheds SOME additional light on the subject. so far the best answer is STILL urbans', that jesus was talking and mentioned names

Question: "What was the meaning and importance of the transfiguration?"

Answer: About a week after Jesus plainly told His disciples that He would suffer, be killed, and be raised to life (Luke 9:22), He took Peter, James and John up a mountain to pray. While praying, His personal appearance was changed into a glorified form, and His clothing became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared and talked with Jesus about His death that would soon take place. Peter, not knowing what he was saying and being very fearful, offered to put up three shelters for them. This is undoubtedly a reference to the booths that were used to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, when the Israelites dwelt in booths for 7 days (Lev. 23:34–42). Peter was expressing a wish to stay in that place. When a cloud enveloped them, a voice said, “This is My , whom I have chosen, whom I love; listen to Him!” The cloud lifted, Moses and Elijah had disappeared, and Jesus was alone with His disciples who were still very much afraid. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone what they had seen until after His resurrection. The three accounts of this event are found in Matthew 17:1-8, Mark 9:2-8, and Luke 9:28-36.

Undoubtedly, the purpose of the transfiguration of Christ into at least a part of His heavenly glory was so that the “inner circle” of His disciples could gain a greater understanding of who Jesus was. Christ underwent a dramatic change in appearance in order that the disciples could behold Him in His glory. The disciples, who had only known Him in His human body, now had a greater realization of the deity of Christ, though they could not fully comprehend it. That gave them the reassurance they needed after hearing the shocking news of His coming death.

Symbolically, the appearance of Moses and Elijah represented the Law and the Prophets. But God’s voice from heaven – “Listen to Him!” - clearly showed that the Law and the Prophets must give way to Jesus. The One who is the new and living way is replacing the old – He is the fulfillment of the Law and the countless prophecies in the Old Testament. Also, in His glorified form they saw a preview of His coming glorification and enthronement as King of kings and Lord of lords.

The disciples never forgot what happened that day on the mountain and no doubt this was intended. John wrote in his gospel, “We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only” (John 1:14). Peter also wrote of it, “We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, ‘This is my , whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.’ We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred mountain” (2 Peter 1:16-1. Those who witnessed the transfiguration bore witness to it to the other disciples and to countless millions down through the centuries.
