From Light Planet:

Are Mormons Christians?

Are Mormons Christians? Yes, Latter-day Saints are indeed Christians. In fact the official name of the Mormon church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Prophet Joseph Smith explained that Jesus Christ is the central figure in the doctrine of the Mormon Church:

"The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it" (TPJS, p. 121).

Latter-day Saints believe that complete salvation is possible only through the life, death, resurrection, doctrines, and ordinances of Jesus Christ and in no other way.

Also From Stephen E. Robinson on the Trinity of God:

"If by "the doctrine of the Trinity" one means the New Testament teaching that there is a Father, a , and a Holy Ghost, all three of whom are fully divine, then Latter-day Saints believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. It is as simple as that.

The Latter-day Saints' first article of faith, written by Joseph Smith in 1842, states, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His , Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." (See Articles of Faith) Baptisms in the Church are performed "in the name of the Father, and of the , and of the Holy Ghost" (see D&C 203).

The prayer of blessing on the sacrament of the Lord's Supper is addressed to God the Eternal Father in the name of his , Jesus Christ, to the end that those who partake may have his Spirit to be with them (see D&C 207-79). (See Sacrament Prayers) Latter-day Saints thoroughly agree with the biblical doctrine of the threefold nature of the Godhead and of the divinity of the Father, the , and the Holy Ghost. (See Teachings About the Godhead; Do Latter-day Saints believe in a different Jesus?)"

I have learned many lessons in my journey, but one that means the most to me at this moment is that energy must circulate. Seasons cycle, life cycles, electricity cycles, generations cycle, blood cycles, breath cycles. Everything is in flow. When the flow stops, stagnation, decay, and death occur.

In relationships between men and women this is also true. Our respective energies must be circulated, given back to each other. To stop the flow of energy with our self, we overload and burn out. Give and it will be given to you.

I believe much of the trouble between men and women is from trying to keep love to oneself when that is a total contradiction in terms. Love received must be love given back. This is an energy exchange and is the only way to keep from overload which, in my opinion, causes anger, frustration, and even hatred.

Are not the most hateful people in the world the most self absorbed? Are not the most admired people in the world the most self giving, or returning of the energy they have received? Jesus would be the epitome of this. He gave what He received and like the flame of the candle, His sharing never diminished Him. A candle flame can light 1000 candles and still the flame burns ever as much. The wax is diminished, but never the flame.

The lesson is to share our energy, never horde it, or stop the flow with oneself, but as we receive also share.

Undoubtedly, beyond question, the Lord's finest creation is women. Its a joke that He saved His best creation to last, but after many years I believe it is no joke. Highest on the spiritual ladder, most beautiful, and intuitive is She.

Please do not mistake that in any way I am courting any woman's favor or compliment. Its just I am unhappy with the recent slams being directed at them. The finest woman I ever met was my mother. She had all the characteristics of an angel, just she was human.

I know women can be very frustrating to us men, but in the most bare and unvarnished truth, the frustration begins with us men and our annoying irritating lack of character. Further, women generally act as we men want them to act. We want them to be provocative, and dress like they do. We praise models, and shame those who are not.

Again, I am not trumpeting women for any attention. Its just when it would take ten men to equal the love a woman's heart has to give, the good manners, the loyalty to a good relationship, its a pain to me to see the injustice they receive. In a relationship women take on the monumental task of helping a man grow up. For too many of us men the job is exhausting and only when they are fully spent and can not try anymore do they pass the baton to some other woman to take up where she left off.

I write this knowing full well their failings. I know Jesus never asked women to bear the burden of apostles. Their gifts are to support and assist and motivate. The esteemed mother Mary is revered for this motivation.

In conclusion, I really believe the only thing wrong with women is the way we men treat them. If we want them to change, we need to be the change as they will follow us no matter. We lead them where they go, willingly or unwillingly.

Please ladies, I am not asking you to join in a chorus and say finally someone understands. I would be happy if you just keep quiet and be encouraged that someone understands. Actually, there are many men who do understand, but maybe don't say.

If the love, forgiveness, sharing we give to others is a gift also to ourself, so is hatred, judgement, and self only a curse also to ourself.
