Today I received this devotional from the Love Worth Finding site...

I love how it talks about having a relationship with Jesus involves spending time with Him. Its just like any other relationship, you have to invest in it. Anyway here it is....

October 30

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.” Psalm 5:3

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Christianity is a love relationship. You cannot love someone that you do not know, and you cannot know someone that you don’t spend quality time with. To know Jesus is to love Him. To love Him is to trust Him. To trust Him is to obey Him. To obey Him is to be blessed. It begins with a quality, daily communi- cation with the Lord. Why is it best to spend time with the Lord in the morning? Because you are getting ready to go on a road trip through life. You don’t take the trip and then read the map, do you?

ACTION POINT:
How are you starting your mornings? With a cup of coffee and the paper? Or with the pure milk of the Word and the light of His presence?

A Sight to See.....or a Site to See

Okay so my sense of humor is a little warped but I love finding strange little sites on the internet that make me laugh. I am sure y'all have seen Ready Set Go do the dance thing on the treadmills or that guy who does the Evolution of Dance. (If you haven't, they are hilarious!!)

Here are a few that I have found are great for a laugh when I am feeling blue. (Sorry I am unsure how to make a direct link on here so you will have to cut and paste them into another browser. Please feel free to share your favorites here too....

Tin Foil Deflector Beanie (I love the page with how to make these and you wouldnt believe how much better my tv reception is with one of these babies! LOL )

Dehydrated Water (Oh you have to check out the free sample link as well as the benefits under the job catagory! LOL )

Sand Fantasy (Now this one isnt funny but I found it to be amazing. I cant even imagine how someone would get the idea to do this. It blows me away)

Enjoy y'all!

UPDATE: Well folks the links to the fun sites caused my post to be banned because I was supposedly advertising a product - Hmmm lets see - Yeah I bet the tin foil and tape company was gonna make oodles off me - or how about the dehydrated water place... hmmmm how many of you were gonna run out and buy some air. I went ahead and removed the sand fantasy link too because I think she did have a video for sale. Anyway - if you wanna laugh or be amazed - just google them... sheesh... I love blog nazis!!

With a wink and a prayer

Okay I have received yet another wink from someone I have never spoken to in chat and their profile is devoid of any interests, hobbies, or tidbits about them. I don't know if this guy is interested in any of the things I am interested in or did he just look at the pic and say Hey here's another one in my state and went fishing.

On one hand I dont want to be rude but on the other, it would be nice to know something about this guy. It doesnt bother me he didnt post a pic. After all, I'd rather no pic that one he cut off some page online of some model. I am not looking for perfection.

But it would be nice to know if you have a hobby, a sense of humor, or any common interests.

So put something down in your profile people. You don't have to write a book. Let me know who Jesus is in your life; what kind of things you like to do; if you get better tv reception by wearing a tin foil beanie that keeps the space aliens from reading your mind.... ANYTHING!!

I wont even judge spelling, sentence structure or basic grammar. Just give me a basic clue who you are!

Thanks and God bless!

Feeling Blue?

Sometimes as a single parent, I feel like I am plate spinner and no matter how hard I try some of those plates fall crashing to the ground but other plates I do quite well at spinning.

I figure if being a Christian was easy, well everyone would be doing it! The Book of James says we must have faith during times of trials or we will be battered about like a boat on rough seas.

The Book of James also mentioned that trials perfect our faith and build our endurance. Well on somedays I think I deserve to put that towel around my shoulders and pretend I am wonderwoman because there is a lot of endurance being built within me! LOL

I received this devotional today and perhaps it might touch you as much as it did me. This is from Rhema Broadcasting and you may have read it on Linus' blog because I know he posts many of these but this one is worth an additional post.

Don't be surprised...that you are going through testing. - 1 Peter 4:12 CEV

Testing...testing

Have you ever had a teacher tell you at the beginning of a school term that there would be tests without any warning? Sometimes they're called a "pop quiz." Maybe you didn't like it, but at least you knew to be prepared by doing your homework and completing your assignments on time. You understood the tests were coming so you couldn't say you hadn't been warned.

God operates on the same principle. His Word says, "Don't be surprised...that you are going through testing." Now, God's tests aren't
necessarily ones you'd have chosen for yourself because they never seem to come at the right time and always test you in your weakest areas.
That's because they're not for the teacher's benefit, they're for yours! The tests of life are designed to sharpen us mentally and strengthen us spiritually. When tests come, and they will, you've got two choices. One:
act like a victim and complain that you've been singled out and unfairly treated. Two: let them teach you more about yourself - and the God you
serve. Have you ever worked out in a gym? You can use tests as resistance, the kind you push against to grow stronger. Or you can walk around feeling sorry for yourself - and stay spiritually unfit and flabby.

Here's a comforting thought: God will never give you more than you can handle, or a test you can't pass. His Word says He'll "never let you
down...let you be pushed past your limit; He'll always be there to help you" (1 Co 10:13 TM). So the Word for Today is - be prepared! The test
could come at anytime.

-------------------------------------------------
Okay if that doesnt cheer you up a bit, then try saying this five times fast aloud:

Toy Boat!!

hehehehe (Hey a cheerful heart is good meds people!!)

Netiquette

Yes there is such thing as Netiquette because behind every monitor that is online is another human being. I am going to be blunt and do not wish to offend y'all but I must be honest with y'all as well.

Not every forward you receive in your email should be passed on. There are a ton of internet hoaxes out there. If you are going to send on something to a so-called friend of yours, shouldn't you at least check out what you are sending and make sure its true and valid.

I am so tired of receiving forwards of internet hoaxes. There are a ton of sites you can check these things out No one is going to send you a gift certificate to Applebees or a check from Bill Gates if you pass this on.

Oh and the slavemaster guy who goes to chatrooms singling out women was arrested six years ago and was convicted in 2004!! (You should always be careful online anyways because there are a ton of fruitcakes online.)

And by the way, the 9-11 verse from the Quoran isnt about the eagle and the US!! Spreading untruthful information doesn't help the world to see us as being wonderful Christian folks.

If you want to send on something that someone else sent you that touched your heart, that' great but remember some of us don't have email boxes or internet isps that allow us to look at 47 pictures of angels that are all the size of an 8x10! All you have done is clogged up my email box and perhaps blocked a much needed prayer request from getting through.

So you have a great joke that tickled your funny bone and you want to send it on... please use yourbcc (Blind Carbon Copy) option. I prefer my email address stay private and if you have it, then I trusted you with it. I don't know all your friends nor do I want them sending me all their forwards.

You wouldnt believe the number of Christian "friends" that I do not even know that have added my email to their lists and use my address to sign me up for things I don't want.

If you really want to send something to me - add a personal note to it. I am much more inclined to read it that another tired forward that claims that I don't love Jesus if I dont send it to 56 other people. Guess what? I am not sending it on! Yes I am breaking the chain and so be it if I have 23 years of bad luck from here on out.

I figure if my fruits don't show my love and devotion to Him, sending on another email forward isn't going to do it either. I also don't believe in luck. I believe God is in control and all things eventually work toward His glory according to His will and timing.

I'll probably write more on this subject later. In the meantime, I have 36 forwards to get rid of.

His peace....

Well folks, I decided to go ahead and officially join the ranks of blogland. I can't promise to entertain you or enlighten you but hey, it's my blog! If you want someone to tap dance for you, may I suggest Ben Vereen!

Some of the things I might discuss here may not be want you want to see or hear but I am doing this blog to get things off my chest and share a bit.

Some of you may know me from the chatrooms. Some of you may not - Perhaps we will all get to know another better in the future.

In the meantime, God bless y'all!
