PLEASE, PLEASE HELP

I need advice you guys. My husband and I both are fighting for disabilty and neither one of us working. I just had a heart attack(im 33) a month ago and a stint put in plus I have ALOT of other health problems. My husband is going to have surgery on his back.
What do we do for Christmas for our 4 ? And Halloween and birthdays? How do we explain being broke to a 6 year old?
We are able to pay our bills but that is it! No money left after that. Advice?

Hi, welcome to BC blogland! I hear your frustration and worry loud and clear. The others have given many good suggestions. Now you have your work cut out for you to actually *do* the suggestions. Sometimes we are tempted - okay, seems like we are always tempted to continue to worry even when we have things we can start doing. I pray you will turn your efforts to doing the things you can as that is the best way to reach out to the Lord and others, but doing what *you* can and then trusting the Lord for the rest.

My testimony is that one year when son was 13 I had *no* money, and spent only $11 on all his Christmas gifts. I found several inexpensive things for that amount, carefully choosing things he could *do* to enjoy, like a jig saw puzzle and a paint by number. He considered that a great Christmas and wasn't at all put off by the quantity or quality of the gifts. The best part was just having Christmas anyway, after all.

My second testimony is that I was supposed to be disabled for life and have lived below the poverty level line quite a bit - BUT GOD! As I learned to seek Him, He revealed more and more to me and gradually I was able to receive multiple supernatural healings and of course that allowed me to get back to work and then, as I continued to seek Him, better jobs came, etc.

As I read my heart really goes out to you, but mostly because I hope you will reach out to Him not just to bail you out of the poverty on holidays for your kids sake, but that He will reveal Himself to you as your source and healer as well.

God bless you! There are many great FREE resources about these things available online. Keep the faith, sis! God wants better for you than this!

Hi! Louisville does not offer help to our County. I know this for a fact as I have tried. Louisville is about an hour away from us. My in-laws are about borrowed out. I have tried everything I can think of and still have no answer.

I do have an attorney for my SSI. I am getting tired of fighting it! I have Fibromyliga, C.O.P.D., Asthma, A heart attack a month ago, Arthris, Both my knees are bad, Bi-Polar, IBS and severe Anixety. Its a day to day struggle for me.

Thanks for the advice and please keep my family in your prayers.

my prayers are with you as well. steve gave you some great advice. i know when i was just coming back to the states and my ex had left me. i came over here with just a couple of thousand dollars and my grandchildren. i did a lot of praying, looking for answers and why was i going through all of this. once i got out of my pity party then i started to take action. kids toys you can always find at thrift shops, garage sales, etc, they may not look the best but you and your husband can clean them up and make them like new. some things you may have to buy some spare parts or so. don't know what you have your way but we have what is call a dollar store here where we can buy toys for the kids that are new and only a few buck or less. nothing fancy but then if your kids are like my kids most of the stuff will be tore up in a few weeks. as for other ideas, steve has already said what i would say so no need to rehash it all, find a good church home or call one of the local agencies in your area, cheers and God bless you

May the Lord bless you and keep you

Thanks for reading my blog and for the advice. I am trying to just leave it all in Gods hands but that is easier said then done My mom always has said that God never gives you more then you can handle. I sometimes say to God that I have had enough and please let up some

Where we live we do not have ANY programs such as Toys For Tots, Goodwill, Angel Tree, Salvation Army or Red Cross. We live in a VERY, VERY small town that doesnt offer anything. My kids are very easy to please but I am very worried about Christmas. My kids are 6, 8 and 10 and my 14 year old step daughter lives with us also. We live on borrowed money from my in-laws to pay bills. I just lost my car because I couldnt keep the payment up. I am 33 and had an actual Heart Attack a month ago. I had to have one stint put in because the arttery was 80% blocked and I still have one that is 50% blocked. I have several other major health problems and have been fighting for my disabilty for over 6 years. When is it all going to let up? I need help!
