There Is No Testimony Without First a Test

The Lord told my friend...

THERE IS NO TESTIMONY WITHOUT FIRST A TEST

"Testimony" always begins with a "test." He went on to say that most people want the testimony but not the test.

James 1:2a
  • My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; [KJV]

  • Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. [NLT]

  • Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. [MSG]
I thought I was making a play on words when I started to share my testimony in "testi-moments," short bits to make His story in my life more blog palatable. He showed me that I'm telling the story of my "Testing Moments."

Why consider testing moments an opportunity for great joy?

James 1:4b
  • that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.[KJV]

  • you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. [NLT]

  • Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.[MSG]
I really want to become perfect and complete, wanting nothing, needing nothing, mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. And it is well worth the work-out to get there.

OUR TESTS ARE NOT JUST FOR OUR BENEFIT

We are able to use our experiences to help others, and the word of our testimony is how we overcome.

Revelation 12:11a
  • And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;[KJV]

  • And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.[NLT]

  • They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb and the bold word of their witness.
    [MSG]
Our tests:
  1. make us complete so that we lack nothing,
  2. give us something to help others who are going through similar trials, and
  3. we use the word of our testimony with the blood of Jesus to overcome the enemy.

LIFE WITHOUT TESTS WOULD BE A GAME CALLED FOR RAIN

Please, share your testimonies! You don't have to share your life story. Share the testing moment that is on your heart, coming to mind. It may be the very one your brother or sister needs today.

Blessings come with obedience, amen!!

BTW, How does one get to be your friend? I have tried leaving you messages like cookie crumbs. I've tried the direct and indirect routes. Frankly, I'm at a loss and thinking about pulling out all stops. This is worth a Q&A post on the BC magazine. If I were tired it would be from your tantalizing titles.  Hi draedrae...

I know you don't know me, but I wanted to take a moment to share that I am LOVING getting to know you. I am a "lurker" of sorts, love to read the blogs...see who is sharing...and I have to say...I am so blessed by your openess and vulnerability.

I believe that it is in our transparency that others no longer see us but Jesus in us. There really is no better way to share a testimony than to be the vessel that carries the sweet savor of Jesus...and to do so in a vessel that is transparent leaves no room for doubters to question what is inside.

You bless me, encourage and inspire me...and I am certain I am one of MANY! I look forward to the next!

 Lisa - THANK YOU! It is amazing to me when I see how short I fall and then hear or read something like you have shared. This has been a week of not walking the walk, and yet I see His patience with me. God is so good! I so appreciate you taking the time to read and to comment. Sometimes I do wonder if people are actually reading these things - or just glancing and moving on, if what I am sharing actually *speaks* to anyone. You are a great blessing!
