In travelling through the States there was a time I hit West Virginia. Bus stopped in Charleston. I took a room in a motel and wandered off to a bar to find some bluegrass music. Now this was back in about 1981. I rocked up into this bar and listened to a bluegrass band. Some guy came up to me trying to sell me heroin. I declined. He then asked why I was listening to this band when ZZtop was in town. I said that I didnt care two hoots about ZZtop, I wanted to hear bluegrass. He knew the band and told them what I'd said. There was not many people in the bar and I was invited to the band's table. Long story short I spent 2 weeks at the mandolin players house, then was catapulted from festival to festival with all his friends. Life was a blur, fantastic, hillbilly heaven. After leaving WV and did the east coast, FLA and then back to LA I started to get homesick for Auz, flew home. but when I got home I got homesick for my friends in the States! I'll never forget the friendships I made. Lifetime friends in 5 minutes with a small amount of special people I clicked with. Awesome...... There's so much more to say but wont say it now, only to say this. The mountains were that colour when I left, winter was starting to come, but the leaves on the maples etc were all yellow, red and brown. Here in my country we have mostly eucalypts and evergreens so seeing this spectacular array of colours was really amazing. You guys have surely got a great country. God has surely blessed America, just hope it stays blessed in the times to come.

Judgement Day will be interesting.
