Do I Know You?

I think there are some really nice people on Big Church. People who make me smile and laugh, inspire and even perspire. (That could actually be caused by the hot flashes but I digress.) Some that make me think and some that even make me look within myself and my relationship with God.

However, there are only a few people here at BC now who I truly know well because of a real life connection other than what I have personally encountered through their persona on the screen.

Most of my close BC friends have found greener pastures elsewhere. A couple I really stay in contact with. I have personally met a few Big Church members in person. There are others I have spoken to on the telephone. There are even a few that I know from other Christian sites and have subsequently spoken to them via phone or met in real life.

I have made a close handful of friends from Big Church that I know I could tell them exactly everything that is going on my life no matter what it was or how embarrassing or shameful, trusting them totally to never betray me. I am so blessed for that.

But those are a very special few that I have kept in contact with outside of BC or could reach if I wanted to from outside of these confines. There are a few guys that I just wouldn't probably contact just because I find it so very hard to ask for help. But I know I could in any horrible situation if I was to swallow my pride. I know they would help me, somehow, someway.

However, for the most part, while I may try to talk to everyone I come across here, I really don't know too many of you personally and a lot of you I don't know at all.

There are of course standouts that I can honestly say something like, "So & So is probably a really nice person in real life," or "That person really has a lot on their plate and so I am definitely praying for His will, compassion, healing and mercy be done in their lives." And there are several that I can say, "That So & So is a real hoot and I laugh like a lunatic when I can banter with him/her."

Of course, the lunatic thing sometimes hits too close at home with me sometimes, but I digress.

I really don't know who uses what handle when and where for the most part. If someone wants to let me know what their other handles are, that's cool. I don't want to use the same jokes over and over on ya!

Of course, some of the various handle users you can see a mile coming! They are obvious to let you know who they are so I don't take it as a bad thing. People end up with multiple handles for various reasons. Sometimes they were banned. Usually that's their issue and not mine. I do not know or care in many cases who got who banned and why.

I have frequented enough Christian chat rooms on the net to know that there are so many reasons why someone may get banned. I was banned from a Christian chat room once because I used the word, "Fudge"! I happened to be talking about making Fudge at Christmas at the time but the room had a very strict, no tolerance policy and Fudge was listed in their banned word list. I never came back there because I figured I'd probably be banned for some other stupid word I might use like "Mocha."

If I personally see something that I do not agree with, I will often ask the person later privately why they said that. Often, I try to steer the conversation away from attacking one another.

In chat, I try to be the peacemaker as much as I can by using my sense of humor. Sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes I tire so I just have to go get a mocha and ask God how to try to handle something in a way that people start to smile and laugh again together as His . Some times, I just shut up and pray. I actually do that a lot more than people know.

I have heard a lot of people say they are searching for truth here on BC. Some feel that this is their mission field. That's not my personal calling here at all or anywhere for that matter. I think He has other things for me to do. After all, we are all part of His body but we're not all called for the same things. Someone has to be a little toe. That would be me.

Praying to Him and reading His word reveals so much to me. Now if only my actions could stand up to His truth. But I am trying!

I try not to involve myself in any personal drama here at BC but at the same time I'm saddened that so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ have been hurt here. But since most of the squabbles here are none of my business, occurring before my return and involving parties I really do not know, I cannot possibly make a decision on which side to take so I choose to take none.

This may or may not be the right decision for everyone but I just come here every few years to blog a bit and chat a bit with adults who do not necessarily want to discuss skateboarding, X-Box or why I never buy Flaming Hot Cheetos at the grocery store!

So I try to be polite and welcoming to all I meet here at BC.

Because it is what I believe Jesus would want me to do. He welcomed me as a sinner in filthy rags into His arms, making me whole, cleansing my soul and truly loving me despite of myself.

Truly, I have enough personal drama in my own life and I am very menopausal. Half the time here I am breaking out in a heat rash. Someone in chat recently called my hot flashes power surges!! I liked that!

The fact that this 48 year old very hormonal menopausal woman (that would be me!) with a bipolar special needs young man (my ) at home under extreme financial stress and neither of us have personally killed each other or anyone else yet is proof positive that there is indeed a God.

My ways may seem unreasonable to you and my actions bizarre but even though we may differ, we are still of God and most loved by Him despite of ourselves. Whatever good you see in me if that which is Him and whatever bad you see in me, well that's all on me. I am doing the best I can folks!

If you want to get to know me better, feel free to talk to me in chat or add a post here. I like getting to know others even if they have different views and ideas. I often learn the most from people who are not anything like me.

If you don't want to get to know me, that's fine as well but do not expect me to jump on your bandwagon right away because truly, do I know you?

Well, your sense of humor is prevalent. However, to REALLY know you, I would need at least two of your credit cards. LOL
