ok, now for something completely different

I was listening to a CD that Joyce Meyer ministry sent me and she was talking about the Joy of the Lord, and I have had the blessing of having been told a number of times that this was a strength of mine, that I always seem to have joy no matter what happens. My late hubby and i loved to laugh. Lately I have not been 'feeling it' But it has come back around and this cd's teaching not only reminded me to be prayerful and conciously decide to retain it, but just plain tickled my funny bone, so thought I would share...enJOY!

from Joyce Meyer 'partner' CD.

Women over 50 don’t have babies cause they would put them down and forget where they left them.

One of life’s mysteries is how two pounds of candy can make a woman gain five pounds.

The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes

The nice part about living in a small town is when you don’t know what you’re doing someone else always does

The older you get the tougher it is to lose weight because by then your body and your fat are really good friends.

Just when I got used to yesterday along came today.

Sometimes I think I understand and then I regain consciousness.

Skinny people irritate me especially when they say things like ‘you know sometimes I just forget to eat.” Now I have forgotten my mothers maiden name, my address, and my keys but I have never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.

A friend of mine confused her valium with her birth control pills - she had 14 but she doesn’t care.

From letters written to the ministry:

My sister was babysitting my 4 yr old …while Noah was playing with her and , they decided they would play ‘super heroes’ . My niece yelled out ‘I’m superwoman’, my nephew yelled out “I’m Superman”, my 4 yr old took a stance held out his imaginary sword and yelled out ‘I’m Joyce Meyer!’

This woman wrote in from England and said “My 5 yr old saw me reading the Bible last week and asked me what I was doing. I thought it would be a good time to tell him all about the Bible so I told him that the Bible was God’s Word, written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, through a lot of different men. And he stood there thinking for a minute with his hands on his hips and he said “are you sure?” and she said “yes I am” and he said “well I thought Joyce Meyer wrote it” ."

Genuine and authentic things written by on tests and such from bible classes and the like:

Lots wife was a pillar of salt by day and a ball of fire by night

Noah’s wife was called Joan of Ark

Adam and eve were created from an apple tree

Moses led the Hebrew to the Red Seas where they made unleavened bread which is bread without any ingredients. The Egyptians were then all drowned in the desert and afterwards Moses went up to Mount Cyanide to get the ten Amendments.

The fifth commandment is to humor thy father and thy mother.

The seventh commandment is though shall not admit adultery

Moses died before he ever reached Canada.

Joshua led the Hebrews in the battle of Geritol.

The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his to stand still and he obeyed him.

David fought with the finklestines, a race of people that lived in the biblical times

Solomon, one of David’s sons had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.

The people that followed the Lord were called the 12 Decibels.

The Epistles were the wives of the Apostles.

A Christian should only have one spouse and this is called monotony.

I do miss him Sharloa, and today was a tough day for some reason...many many thoughts of him and some more weeping for missing him and yes, his joy and laughter...his singing love songs to me, his arms...just seeing him walk into the room. I expect to have days like this , but it doesn't make them easier. I do have my joy though...I know it is there just around the corner when that grief must assert itself just for a bit. Which is a better place than I had been in for many months, and all due to God's sweet grace.

I am glad to be able to share with my sisters in Christ here and with all the brethren I am so blessed to have in my life. I love you all with a love that can only come from Him. I am awestruck at time at the connection we can all feel to one another simply because we know HIM!!!!
Blessings, Barb

Your post is really cute. I like it.

Isaiah 66:2b; But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
