Does true love exist? True love exists because God brings two people together to for the purpose of marrying one another and that relationship provides the opportunity for true love to happen. True love exists because the Bible says that God brings people together for the purpose of marrying one another. When God brings that perfect match into a persons life the opportunity for true love to occur becomes possible. One reason that people do not think true love exists is because they just marry anybody that comes into their lives without consulting God or even thinking whether this is the right person that He desires them to marry. |

Hi Oowous, If you think about it....true love sure does exist simply because 'God Is Love' and since He made us in His image then it only stands to reason that we love too. There is no one who loves more truly than Jehovah God and we have that quality imbued in us. You are right tho'....many people 'settle' as it were. Living together and then thinking, 'Oh, we should get married', often after having had children. Sadly they often find out after having finally made the commitment that they weren't committed to begin with and were just 'going along for the ride' so to speak. It is very important to include God in the whole process. Making sure that the person you love, or think you love, actually has the same love for God and the qualities you need in making a marriage strong and lifelong. It is the most wonderful thing when two people are truly in love for life. A true gift from God. Yours, Katidid.

I think most people are really concerned about who they choose to spend their lives with. Considering if it's the right one or not. And I also think more people than we do imagine cunsult God - aware or unaware. I've seen a lot of writings on the subject here at BC. Most of the writings seems to involve a letter from God in the mailbox or a lightening sign in the skies. But God don't work that way mostly. I would also want to address the expression "marriage". Most people seems to think it's something taking place in a Church or alike. A ceremony. Not a choice. But it's much more a choice than anything else. A choice of "us". If people choose to live togetheras husband and wife for the rest of their lives and also do so, but without a ceremony of any kind. Are they then married or not? Haven't they chosen to "take this man/woman standing at your side as their wedded husband/wife" ? Love as we know it is heavily influenced by what we read in magazines and books and see in movies. And that's quite romantic and rosy. So we expect the same for our lives. But it's usually not that way it turns out. We also expected to marry the perfect one. The one without flaws. But we are all with flaws. Perfectly imperfect. And THAT'S the great thing. God is expected to be the one without flaws. The perfect one. And He is perfect. More than we can imagine. And He paid our ransom so we can be free and perfect in Him. Let's give the same freedom and perfection in Him to our spouses. Yes, true love exists. But it's not just a romantic feeling and rosy.
