Tis the season.....

For the past few days, there is something that God has presented to me in various ways: in scripture, at work, church, and here within chat and the blogs.

With Christmas fast approaching and the New Years Eve celebration just 6 days later, it brings to mind for me that not everyone feels the joy that is normally associated with this time of year.

While some people will be spending time with family or friends, there are others who will be spending this time alone - some by
choice, others by various circumstances.

There are also many who will be dealing with:

Homelessness
Drug or alcohol problems
Mental or physical disabilities
Money troubles
Depression
Legal problems
Relationship problems
Physical or emotional abuse
Lack of employment
No health insurance

It goes on, and on.
And some issues like depression often can lead to others.

I'm not posting this to make anyone feel guilty or point fingers at anyone.
I just want to remind everyone that during this time of year the enemy isn't going to simply just sit back and let us commemorate the birth of our Saviour, he's going to come at us with all guns blazing!

He and his army are predators and will attack us when we are at our weakest.
So don't freely give them any opportunity to do so.

We shouldn't be so quick to focus on what we DON'T have, but instead should be mindful of what we DO have, and give thanks to the Lord for those blessings.

We should also not be so quick to discount or ignore what other members on this site might be dealing with just because they are normally cheerful or helpful. Neither should we be critical or belittle them if what they are dealing with seems insignificant to us - Hebrews 3:13(KJV) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened though the deceitfulness of sin

So please, think before you type a post in chat or in a blog and hit 'enter'.
A few simple words could be enough to either pull someone back from the edge, or push them over it.

So have a safe and Merry Christmas, and may God bless you abundantly.

Dispute what i whine about in chat im happy with life. That is more expressing frustration with a society that values physical appearance and wealth over character and morality and spirituality. I am mightly blessed in many many ways.
I don't think at all that you are/were whining, you're just voicing your dislike of how you feel you're being viewed and treated by society. There's nothing wrong with that.

You're not alone though, I know that there are members here that are experiencing the same or similar to what you're dealing with.

From 14 years old until about 3 years ago I had the same physical build (5' 11" & 130lbs = tall and skinny) with long hair, and over the years I've been called more things than you can imagine: "Druggie", "Aids victim", "Crack addict", "Fag", "Hippie", "Girlie-Man", "Homo", "Cousin IT", "Anorexic", etc.
I'm not 14 anymore and I've added about 40+ pounds, but I occasionally still hear comments both under peoples breath and out loud, and still get "the look" from some people. I've even had police officers staring me down like I'm some kind of criminal.
And although I hear and see it, I choose to ignore it and not give them the pleasure of thinking that they're offending me or pushing my buttons to get me mad.

Are these people jealous for some reason, and this is the only way they know how to express that?
Perhaps they're just lashing out at anyone because of their own insecurities?
I honestly don't know, nor will I ever likely know.
But God knows, which is why it's best to just turn these situations over to Him through prayer. His outstretched hands are always there.

I think that if we honestly look through that list, we can all pick out a couple that apply to each one of us, and probably add even more to it.

A kind word, a smile (like in your picture) or simply just being there to listen can help more than just the recipient, it helps the giver too in that it feels good to the Spirit within.
It's also contagious, and can spread quickly if we just open up to it.

Merry Christmas to you as well, and may God bless you.

Yes, I would say for sure that you sound blessed, and also have someone (your hubby) to share and enjoy those blessings with = extra blessing.

I pray that you enjoy your Christmas, and also remember to pray for (and help if given the chance) those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Merry Christmas, and God bless.

meow, you are one of the people that I thought of when I decided to post this blog.
Although I don't know you all that well, what I do know I've gleaned from an occasional chat in the rooms and through reading your well thought out blogs.
And hopefully my understanding to some extent of what you are dealing with, this time of year in particular, makes me wish I were closer to help in whatever way you'd allow.
I've already read in chat and the blogs where several of the Spirit filled members here are helping you in your move and other things, which I'm sure is a huge blessing.
But for me at this time and from where I am, I'll that I can offer you my friend is my ears to listen to you, and my continual prayers for a better life for you until the Father calls us all home.

And your post here got me to thinking. All I'm doing is just typing here, yet not actually DOING anything to help foster what I brought up.
There are several convalescent facilities near me, which I will check into this with their administrators this Saturday to see if there are any residents there who normally don't get visitors but would welcome some.
Thank you for the idea.

Merry Christmas, and I pray that our Lord eases the pain in your heart and body.
