Should Christians Be Active in Politics?

In the post modern, pluralistic world, with the majority of Americans claiming to be Christian (73-76% ), why is it that our society's Christian values are rapidly waning? In the 50's, A.W. Tozer was concerned about the moral decay of America. How much more so 60 years later when the American Landscape is riddled with decay of Christian values from cultural liberalism? Marriage is being redefined, ethics and truth are relative. Where is the Christian voice being heard and why is it that we seem to be less and less a Christian society? Is it that Christians are not using their political power to voice their beliefs? Should Christians be active in politics?

Racefan4 : I could not agree with you more! Thanks for taking a stand and letting your voice be heard. I am amazed the more I see and hear how this once great country has fallen. From the Downgrade Controversy that Spurgeon spoke of over 100 years ago, to the moral Decay of the 50's as Tozer indicated, continuing with the Great Evangelical Disaster depicted by Francis Schaeffer. Where will it all end? We, who are the body know, we are given the road map laid out by our Lord in Revelation.

Oh how we need to turn our hearts back to the Lord! As the immortal words of George Santayana ring out "those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". Like Ancient Rome, that once was a mighty civilization, the decay of religion and morality among the people was a fundamental cause of their weakness and ruin.

Do we see a pattern here?
