Forget Not The Christmas Spirit. Yesterday I felt sad! I had gone to a store to purchase some groceries and on entering the store, it hit me that we had just entered into a season of high sales, a season of happy holidays, where any money that I will spend from now onwards will fatten some pockets somewhere. I will be encouraged to spend as much as possible, with bright sales stickers donning every single shop. What happened to Jesus? what happened to the mention of Jesus? How is it that a time set aside for someone as great as God has become something else. No one will wish me a blessed Christmas, they will instead wish me some happy season. Do I want to be happy at this time? The world is turning daily away from God, do I want to be swept along with it. Do I know the true meaning of Christmas? Do I care? What will I do about it? Will I be the voice to remind those around me that it is indeed the most special time of the year. Imagine, I am remembering how God became man in order to save me? just imagine! how great can this be? He was a mere babe, in a stable, with poverty surrounding him, see that? picture that? Does it bring joy, wonder into your soul? Does it make you wish everyone really noticed that it is indeed a very special time? Does it make your heart jump with joy when you contemplate the mystery that is God? Then I remembered that God loves a cheerful person and I smiled because I know that deep in my soul he lives and he understands me more than anyone else. I hope as you all look within you will realize that this is not a holiday! this is indeed time to reconnect with our savior, shower love on all we meet, because we know that he lives in us. Blessed Christmas! How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? |
