A new beginning. . .

Well, it's finally happened. I've "met" someone. (No, not on this website, or its sister sites.)

Actually, we'll meet face to face for the first time this weekend when he comes to the island. It's a get-to-know-one-another weekend, which will include him joining me for church.

Naturally, I'm worried at how things will go.

I'm a big girl. There's no getting around that. I gained over 100 pounds thanks to a back injury/surgery. And while I work doggedly to shed the weight, it's not going to come off before the weekend.

Yes, he knows I'm "big & beautiful," but does he get it? Gosh I hope so.

I'm putting it all in God's hands.

I've not dated in nearly 8 years! I had too many bad experiences and gave up on the notion of romance until very recently.

Any advice for nervous little me?

Thanks, Meow! Sadly, M. hasn't been to church in a few years. He's very excited about coming to church with me and I'm hoping it will help refresh his relationship with God. He's just gone through a nasty separation/divorce and truly needs to lean on God's love, compassion, mercy and understanding.
