A Duet

One of my lifelong passions is music. I've been involved in music for as long as I can remember. Piano lessons, orchestra, marching band, church choir, school choir, and most recently, the Whidbey Community Chorus.

The Chorus is a group of between 60 and 80 talented folks who come together twice a year to rehearse for two concert seasons, Spring and Christmas. We meet once a week for three months to prepare for each concert season. For a music lover like myself, it's both fun and exciting.

When I was at rehearsal last night, something struck me. There's something. . .or someone missing from the equation.

There's a married couple who sings with us. She's an alto, he's a tenor. They both have lovely voices and it's marvelous when they're called upon to sing a duet.

We're no more than nodding acquaintances, but I'm fascinated by them. Last night it occurred to me why; deep in my heart, I want a man who reads music and sings to share one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

I don't believe that couples have to share every single interest with one another. Variety is, after all, the spice of life when it comes to hobbies. But, to have a special someone who loves music as much as I do, there with me in Chorus, and in church choir would be glorious!

Faithful Readers, do you love music? Do you sing in the choir or with another group? Do you share it with your special someone as well?

Hi Hope. I think it's the dream of every single Christian lady to have a good Christian man sitting in that pew next to her. I long for that, too. Here's praying we're blessed with our true soul-mates!

Our church has a contemporary service--first service--then a "blended" second service where the choir sings and the praise band performs. Folks were unsure of it at first, but I think it's finally catching on. I really love the praise band's contribution to worship.
