Meet the Cats on the Rock, Part 4

Meet Julien Subatoi Bashir. Yes, a Star Trek character.

"Morris" was found wandering along the side of Morris Road outside of Coupeville, WA. That's the only reason the tiny, 6-week old jet black kitten would be so named. In an odd turn of events, while he was the only kitten at the WAIF shelter for 6 weeks, no one seemed interested in him.

Hearing this story, my heart went out to the little guy. What amounts to a prison cell is not the place for a baby to grow up. So, even though I already had three cats, I knew we could make room for one more and Julien joined our merry feline band.

Although his nickname is "Little Baby," he's anything but. In the year that he's been a part of the Cats on the Rock, he has grown from leggy baby to very tall, svelte and leggy cat. Handsome, with amber eyes and a coat shinier than a pair of black patent leather shoes, he's everyone's favorite baby. Even persnickety Kira!

Though, in all honesty, my friends and I often joke about the meaning of "Subatoi" whenever Julien gets into trouble. . .which is often. He's still a kitten, after all. Speculation ranges from the profane to the poetic. However, he's such as sweet-tempered little fellow that I can't stay mad at him for more than an instant. He's an extremely affectionate cat, forever showering everyone with kisses and cuddles.
