C'mon now...tell the WHOLE STORY.

John 8:31-37..."Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. 37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you
."

The Jews Jesus is speaking to may have "believed" in Him, but they were also accused by Jesus of their seeking to kill Him. Now, is this consistent with true believers?

Answer: No, it is not. The unsaved people of the world who will never be saved by God, and are condemned already, do not have Jesus' word abiding in them because God did not place it there. The Great Physician to whom the sick needed healing chose not to heal these Jews and others like them, especially here at BigChurch, because He had not chosen them to salvation. They were D.O.A. (Dead On Arrival).

These Jews remind me of many here that say they "believe" in Jesus, but the reality of it is that they do not have His Word abiding in them because God did not plant the Seed of the Word in them.

Me? I am eternally grateful to God for Him saving a sinner like me, but that's not why I am obedient. There is no quid pro quo. There's no tit for tat.

I obey Him not because He saved me and so my obedience is bought over to Him. No sir. I obey Him because of WHO He is.

How about you? Do you agree?
