Do not boast that you are old in age or senior in ministry !

[U]Who is greater ?

The greater is not he is older in age..... for God has set this principle when He chose youngsters to be leaders.

He chose David the youngest among his brothers and prefered him to the older seven and anointed his as king over His people , and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him.
( 1 Sam.16)

He also chose young Joseph and made him a father to Pharoah and all his house .
( Gen. 45 )
and all his brothers bowed down to him
( Gen.37:9-10)

God also chose the Tribe of levi to be the tribe of priesthood and the Tribe of Judah as kings and did not chose Reuben
( Gen.49:3,4)

God chose [B]Jacob who was younger than Esau , and blessed him saying " ..... be master over your brethern and let your mother's sons bow down to you "
( Gen.27:29)

And God chose [B]John the Baptist who came after all the prophets of the Old Testament , and said about him

" among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist "
( Mt.11:11)

So , who is greater according to God's measures ?

The greater is the greater in heart and the greater in love.

It is he who can by the work of grace in him be above making mistakes and can be great in his spirit and his morals

It is also who is greater in mind , understanding , wisdom , and discerning.

He is far beyond nonsense , excitment , rage , and far beyond getting offended or stumbling.

Briefly , it is he who is great in his personality , and not he who is old in age.

St. Paul the apostle

was not the oldest apostle , nor the first one called , and was not among the twelve disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ , nor even among the Seventy , and was not with Him at all during His life on earth.........
Yet he said ,

" I laboured more abundantly than they all "
( 1 Cor.15:10)

And although he was the last one called , he became the apostle of Gentiles and the uncircumcised .

So , do not boast that you are old in age , or senior in ministry , the two things which St. Paul lacked .

Rather , be great in the depth of your ministry , in affecting others by your personality, in sacrificing and giving, and in what God reaps from your ground.
