Travel For A Cause

In the past I have traveled to developed places and stayed in fine hotels. Often I did this on expenses. Instead, these days I will find a great group that works with refugees, such as the UNHCR, United Nations High Council for Refugees, or within the US the well respected IRC, International Rescue Committee.

Or you may select a new missions type vehicle like East West Ministries. East West has many opportunities to travel to regions that suffer from political, military or ethnic oppression. And they also support regions following natural disasters.

Christians may think they do not want to work within the framework of the UN. Often this comes from the American separation of church and state that has reached anti-religious levels. The UN is definitely not perfect. But I have seen things like Land Rovers in Africa with UNHCR seals on the front door, and Assemblies of God Worldwide seals on the back doors. As it turns out the AG is very well represented in refugee camps and the UNHCR even uses AG facilities because AG is so well funded.

So, break out! Find a way to make a difference among the least among us. The least of the least.

Take care, and thank you for reading

Welcome to blog, and yes, amen, help those in need! My husband and I have found a church that's very busy doing just that, and we lobe it! Blessings
