The Most Perfect Man.....

The Most Perfect Man

May 19,1928 - Oct 31, 2009....My dad went into the loving arms of Jesus yesterday evening.

Thank you to everyone for the prayers for my dad and for my family, it is so greatly appreciated. I would like to share something special between my dad and myself. At the end of a phone conversation or as I would be leaving his home instead of saying "I love you" either he or I would look at the other and say "Dont forget" and the other one would say "Oh, I never will, dont you forget either". The day before my dad passed when I walked into his hospital room and walked to his bed to let him know I had returned he said he had something to tell me so I bent down for him to talk. He said to me "I just want you to know that I haven't forgot and I never will" and I told him "I will never forget either", he said to me "You dont forget important things like that" and then he gave me that lopsided smile that he always gave.

That special way we shared of loving each other will be just one of the precious memories I will treasure. I would love to hear any memories that you might want to share about moments with your parents whether they have passed or are still with you and if they are still with you please, please make more memories while you have the time.

Again, thank you for your prayers. Gods wonderful blessings to you...HIs4ever, Marianne

I was at my dad's bedside when he passed away. His kidneys were very weak too. My heartfelt condolences.

Longing4more, It was time yes, as hard as it was. Knowing that his heart was right did make it easier, its the days ahead without him here to be my best buddy that make it hard. I hold on to knowing that I will be with him again. Thank you for your kindness, Marianne

Spitfiregrill, My heart ached at what you had missed but also rejoiced knowing you had that time in the end, and when it involves the Lord that makes up for all the bad time dont you think! As sad and stressful as it is to watch as one so close to us passes, it still amazes me to see how peaceful it is when they have a personal relationship with God. Thank you and God's blessings, Marianne

My very dear friend, How do I ever thank you enough? These wonderful, kind words. And then, the beautiful card, thank you so much for that. We certainly have bent each others ears out of shape on the phone eh! Your right, in my line of work and yours we certainly see it all but you know there is nothing else I would rather do, I have had so many opportunities to talk to and pray with my patients it makes it worth it. Thank you K for being my friend, for being there for me even tho its a few thousand miles, when we are on the phone its like your just down the street! God's blessings, Marianne

My Condolences also in your time of loss. I am reminded of a Hymn called "It is well with my Soul." I lost my father to cancer many years ago. We never had a way to say so-long when we parted ways, but my daughter and I do. Whenever we are ready to hang up on the phone she will say "Ready?" And I say "Yup." Then we both say at the same time "Now you hear me, now you........." (Don't) I am sure she will remember that. My mother? I NEVER forget to tell her that I love her every time we talk. Let God carry you in your time of grief, He won't mind at all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Soaringwithchris, Thank you, and thank you for sharing your connection with your daughter. It is so special when you can have that playful time, even when we are grown up!! I am sure your daughter will remember that and much more as I have about my dad the last 2 days sharing stories with my siblings and friends. Keep creating those memories with and for her, it is the best thing you will leave for her. God's blessings to you, Marianne

Rosaceae, Thank you so much. Yes, it is somewhat of a celebration isnt it! I am just so happy that my dad was a christian, it makes it so much easier to accept knowing where he is now. God bless you my friend, Marianne
