Impenitent Hearts- A Few Thoughts


A brief note: Syllogism- an argument stated in logical form [dialectical; a form of linguistic argument used in Greek philosophy, especially among followers of Aristotle] consisting of three propositions the first two being called the - premises(thesis; anti-thesis-like the Hegelian dialectic) and the last, the conclusion which contain the matter to be proved-(synthesis)
Tertullian Away with all the attempts to produce a "stoic" a "platonic", a dialectical Christianity.
"After possessing Jesus we want no subtle theroies, no clever inquiries after the gospel. With our Faith we desire no further belief."(Against Heretics,7).
Eusebius- "The Little Labycinth" written against a second century heretic and still circulating in his time.
"They strive laborously after any form of syllogism which may be devised to sustain their impiety. And, if anyone brings before them a passage of divine scripture, they examine it to see whether conjecture or disjunctive form of syllogism can be made from it.
Romans 2:4 "Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentence?
5 "But after thy hardness and impenitent heart tresurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God"
