THOSE WHO POINT THE FINGER

Can those who say they are spirit filled Christians claim the right to stand in the very Holy Places of Our God , claim the right to judge, and point the finger at those who are innocent.

Yes. It is commanded.

Judgment and judging has much negative connotation in the Church. It is presumed from an early age that any sort of judging, discernment, or discrimination, is taboo. Yet, we judge every day of our conscious lives. We cannot help but judge. It is our instinct. We were created with it, and it is derived from our first parents. And it is tied directly to our conscience.

We cannot rightly judge without the Holy Spirit. This is not to say that unbelievers have not made right calls, but judging is an attribute of God that is exercised in Wisdom and Righteousness, both attributes of God, and being made in His image (saved), and given the Holy Spirit, we are instructed and commanded in use of this instilled attribute of God:

John 7:24..."Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

Matthew 7:1-2..."Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

Romans 14:1..."Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations."

Hebrews 5:14..."But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

The in the Old Testament, the Law is a type and shadow of the Holy Spirit. Now that we have the Holy Spirit abiding in our life. He is the Law the Lord said He would put in our hearts. In our hearts He is the the "thou shalt not," and the "peace that passes all understanding" as He guides us. When we are disobedient He is the uneasiness and guilt that pierces our consciences. The Law is the Word of God. The Word of God is Christ. Christ is That Spirit.

Jeremiah 31:33..."But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

This "law" is the Holy Spirit by which He is to be the basis of all our judgments that we render. He is the standard (or canon, rule), and when submitted to Him, our discernment/judgment is correct. Your statement "for those that judge in the laws come against the shed blood of Christ" contradicts the above Scripture in Jeremiah 31:33.

    Quoting  :

Moonchaser...can you be more specific and show me my error? Whose character have I poorly discerned? Whose faith n salvation have I poorly judged?

If you read my first response you will see that believers are called to judge righteous judgment, to discern good and evil, and to give the correct measure in all their judgments.

Have you any comment to add to the original question or of the answers it received?

Thanks, Dave (may I call you Dave?)

Hi there, I'm really sorry you are hurting, and I pray that you seek Jesus' guidance. People aren't perfect, they will disappoint and even fail you, only Christ is perfect. Please know this. God bless you!

We will be known for our love for one another. If a brother is in sin, we should go to them privately, in love...if he doesn not listen...you all know the rest. This calling ppl, who all believe the core doctrine of Christ "unsaved", and worse should not be. They stand because of God. We should not judge their works. Not even our own works. (That is unless it is sin.) Jesus will do that. But He is salvation, not any work we could do. I have told a person, I have concern that you are even saved, before. Then we discussed why. Just my belief in what scripture says about this issue. Also we are to gently guide scripture says. I should know where, and will now be looking it up lol. Thanks for the topic lovre. Blessings
