A NATION POISED FOR WAR.......?

For the past year New Zealand has had troops from its special forces stationed in Afghanistan fighting both the Taliban and Alchaeda, both working separately and alongside Allied forces.
Just today we have become another Nation who are about to feel the threat of terrorist attacks on our citizens both abroad and maybe on our own soil as well.
So what does this mean for us. i keep asking myself, which way will this take our peace full nation now.
We are a sovereign nation both under God and one Queen and i know that it is now that it will be a period of just waiting for when they will strike and where they will strike.
What will be the response of our government and people. Would i one day be in a situation where i would have to be in a position of having to defend my country on my own native soil and if so would it be in having to kill an enemy to defend my own.
How would God see me,, The scriptures tell us we must love our enemies and do good to them that hate us.
In my heart i pray that this may never have to happen to both myself and my country men.I pray that Gods peace will have its perfect way and yet i think that even God so often would call the nation of Israel to war and bless them with a mighty victory.
Every Anzac day i go down to the Cenotaph to pay my respects to all those men and women who so bravely fought and died for their country and i lay a poppy there. I go not just for them but also for those of my family who died fighting back then also.
One thing i have noticed that as the older surviving vets are passing on that there are more and more young people who are taking up the torch and carrying it for those who are no longer able to.
Will i one morning turn on the tv and hear the sound of Ta ne Maputo chime in the capitals war memorial and the voice of our leaders calling for a declaration to war. I believe that Alchaeda represent a great evil in the world today and must be put out.
Jesus warned us that as things draw to a close that we will see great evil like this and for us to trust and look to Him.

They are telling us in the U.S. that some got in, and we could be hit again anytime. I keep aware even where I live, and I hurt for those losing their loved ones to war. We, (my family) lost my brother in Vietnam. My father fought in WW2. Now as you stated, it is on our own soil...lots of places. I say, Support Our Troups! Thanks for sharing, and Blessings
