This Hand ~Art Piece~

This hand is bitterness
We want to taste it,
Let the hatred numb our sorrows.
The wise hand opens slowly,
To lilies of the valley and...
Tomorrow.

This is what it means to be held
How it feels,
when the sacred is torn from your life...
And you survive
This is what it is to be loved,
and to know
That the promise was when everything fell...
We'd be held....

Held ~ by Natalie Grant

This image (click on it to enlarge) is a piece of my art that came out of a hard time in my life, the words of this song really spoke to me during that time and helped me to know that even though things were hard I could rest in the knowledge that I was being held in the arms of Jesus. It helped me to focus back on one of my favorite verses in the bible.

"Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders."
Deuteronomy 33:12

Wow, what a beautiful piece and post!

It blessed me immensely as I can so relate right now.

I started adding scripture to my paintings some years back. It did not only remind me of scripture that meant a lot to me at the time, but also generated opportunity to witness.

Hi there, just had to pop in to say hi.
