How to become un-rich...

In my devotions I had a rude awakening....again....this time about $$$$$$$.

Pr 23:4-5, Do not wear yourself out to get rich.....cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off...."

....only a glance.....and poof!!!

Life is so fragile, only what happens in His Kingdom is solid.

I have been blessed in the past with a 6 figure annual income, and the past 2 1/2 years, I have had no income. Which, you ask, would I prefer???

To be honest, the past 2 1/2 years have been the most fulfilling of my life. And I have been able to take all the vacations I missed during those years of making a good income.

How about the fragility of our health?? I was reminded again how fragile health is. I recently was referred to a specialist. Fortunately for me, my GP didn't tell me why. The specialist told me that 80% of patients referred to him have cancer. I told him I wanted the name of the doctor who referred the other 20%...I WAS GOING TO CHANGE GPs. lol

UPDATE: BC somehow didn't print that I am OK. Got a clean bill of healthy from the doctor.

This past week I found out that one of our fellow bloggers was told by their doctor, that if they had waited another day to make the doctor visit, the doctor probably could have only given them only 48 hours to live.

How many other examples could we think of to illustrate how fragile our lives on earth really are. And how important it is for us to be obedient in these areas to walk under the covering God has provided for us.

We've only been given one life, let's live it well!!!

Eph 2:10 We are his workmanship (poiema, or poem, or work of art) created in Christ Jesus.

God is an artist and you are His masterpiece!

Hi Gary, have been there too. I was in the ratrace and the rats won.

I agree, these past few years may have been financially challenging but I would not have it any other way. The price you pay for wordly riches is too high for me.

The price you pay for peace and contentment is a bargain.

Hi there, just had to pop in to say hi.

Hey Sonia
I agree with you on the price....I'll take the bargain.

BTW, thanks for your kind words. GBY, Gary

Hmmm? Money and health, any connection there I wonder?

I have some decisions concerning my own health and choices I have made. Help me in praying that I make the right choice.

As far as finances go...poof...is an appropriate metaphor for my paycheck

I will pray for your choice. It's not always easy, even after years of w alking with God. GBY, Gary

Hmmm, yes! I've been learning lots in the past almost 2 years now about no income and fragility of health! So did ya change GPs?

In being without for awhile, God has really been laying the poor of this world on my heart, and one of my life verses has always been the one in Jeremiah22:16 which says: "He pled the cause of the afflicted and needy; Then it was well. Is not that what it means to know Me?" Declares the LORD.

So when I did a search on 'the bible and the poor' recently I found this wonderful article: THE BIBLE ON THE POORBE A BIBLICAL ONEISSUE VOTER...or do a google search on
"The Bible on the Poor or, Why God is a liberal." It is a little long but so well worth the read. Eye opening.

God Bless...

Another verse: 1 John 3:17 - "If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?"
