I think I have been scammed

I was contacted on another site and we exchanged email information. He said his name was Frank Kelvin. Soon we were instant messaging . These posts and emails were very romantic. He said he had a and that I was an angel sent by God for himself and his . Soon I gave him my home contact information and he gave me his. But whenever I tried to call his home phone number, it would always go to voice mail. Even so we talked of meeting in person. At first he was talking about taking a train from New York to see me in DC. Then he said he was going to Ghana, West Africa to pay for an oil shipment. Once that was done, he would fly here to meet me and then go home to New York. But then when he was supposedly booking his flight here there was a problem and he claimed he needed me to send him money so he could come see me. He claimed he would pay me back when we met. Foolishly, I sent him the money. Then he claimed there was another problem and he needed more money. I said I would help him but I couldn't do it until tomorrow. A friend I know in real life came over because he needed my help with his resume. He said that I shouldn't have helped him in the first place and I shouldn't help him again. I offline messaged him that I couldn't help him and I deleted him off my contact lists for both messenger services. I also blocked his email. I put the number he had most recently been using to call my cell phone on the reject list but I couldn't find a way to block his home number. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Sounds like you've been scammed to me. You really should never give anyone money that you dont know personally and you shouldnt go to meet anyone unless you really truly know them first.

At least you've realized it NOW before keeping on sending money to him.

Ive always thought that people here really should not tell anyone if they have been scammed this way because then it seems that other scammers would pick up on that and view you as an "easy touch" -you know what I mean?

...Just a thought.

THIS IS CLAUDIA, TELLING IT LIKE IT IS.

If he had enouh money to pay for an oil shipment then he surely would have had enough to pay for a train ride to DC. Sorry you got scammed. Where did you send the money to? I hate to tell you this but I watched a tv show the other evening but there is nothing anyone can do because where the scams are originating, the US has NO jurisdiction.

I have said this before and I will say it again. At the very LEAST, people should have "CONFIRM ID" like I do before their profile is even approved and they can use this site.

This fool has contacted many on this site. I know his handle. You might want to contact your local attorney general's office and see if you can do anything. Please be careful. Don't send money to anyone. Sorry sis this happened to you.

If you don't know me you haven't missed much - but if you don't know Jesus you've missed everything!!
